Galastop is used for treatment of pseudopregnancy in bitches and to suppress lactation bitches, in the following situations:
- Separation of pups immediately after delivery.
- Early weaning.
- Fetal death and / or abortion at the end of gestation.
- Lactation after ovariohysterectomy.
All are circumstances that can lead to unintended consequences , such as breast engorgement and mastitis if treatment is not administered to inhibit lactation.
Cabergoline ( D.C.I. ) 5 mg / ml .
Oily solution for oral administration of 7 vials or 15 ml.
None reported .
The only side effects that may occur include drowsiness , anorexia and vomiting . They are rare , transient and
moderate . The vomiting usually may occur only after the first administration.
In this case the treatment should not be stopped because this symptom is not present in the next administration .
USE DURING PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Do not administer to pregnant females Algestop .
Galastop be administered orally directly into the animal's mouth or mixed with food in the following dosages :
- 0.1 ml / kg p.v. ( 5 mcg / kg cabergoline ) once a day for 4-6 consecutive days, depending on the severity of symptoms.
For small breeds or animals weighing less than 5 kg is advisable to administer drops dose : 0.1 ml . of solution equivalent to 3 drops .
In case of relapse , animals can be treated again as previously indicated dose .
MODE OF CONSERVATION
Galastop be stored at below 25 ° C and out of reach of children.
