Composition:
1 g of paste contains: Fenbendazole 187.5 mg. Excipients: methyl p-hydroxybenzoate 1.7 mg; propyl p-hydroxybenzoate 0.6 mg.

Target species:
Dogs and cats.

Indications:
For the treatment of infestations with gastrointestinal nematodes in kittens and adult cats (Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme) and in puppies and adult dogs (Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala and Giardia spp).

Contraindications:
Do not use in pregnant bitches until day 39 of gestation. Panacur®, oral paste for dogs and cats can be used in pregnant bitches in the last third of gestation. However, as the teratogenic effects produced rarely by the fenbendazole metabolite, oxfenbendazole can not be ruled out completely, this should be done only after a risk / benefit evaluation by the veterinarian. Do not use in pregnant cats. It can be used in bitches and cats in lactation.

Side effects:
Treated animals may occasionally experience vomiting or mid-diarrhea related to de-parasitation.

Interactions:
None known.

Posology:
Adult cats:
The dose is 75 mg of fenbendazole / kg pv and day for two consecutive days. The daily dose for 2 kg of body weight corresponds to 3 graduations in the plunger.

Kittens, puppies and adult dogs up to 6 kg pv:
The dose is 50 mg fenbendazole / kg pv / day for three consecutive days. A daily dose for 1 kg of body weight corresponds to a graduation of the plunger.

Especially in conditions of high challenge, the elimination of Ancylostoma tubaeforme in adult cats, from Giardia spp. in dogs and ascarids in puppies and kittens may be incomplete in some animals individually so there is still a risk of contamination of people by contact with those animals. A control examination is necessary and, based on the results, a new treatment is carried out, if necessary, according to the veterinarian's criteria.

Overdosage:
After a treatment with a triple dose at the recommended or a triple duration to the proposal in dogs, a transient induction of lymphoid hyperplasia of the gastric mucosa was observed. These findings have no clinical significance.
In cats, no adverse effects related to the treatment were observed after they were overdosed with the same dosage regimen.
